Project Summary
Great Artesian’s only Surat Basin holding is ATP 552, located adjacent to the Fairymount and Alton Oil Fields.
It contains a number of prospects as well as the Bellbird structure upon which Bellbird-1 recovered oil at a rate of approximately initially 12, and later on extended testing, some 30 barrels of oil per day.
However, the field was never developed. Recent technological advances in drilling techniques, including under-balanced and horizontal drilling, now provide new scope for developing either this or the nearby Bellbird West prospect.
