Great Artesian Oil and Gas Limited’s Cooper Basin exploration permits in South Australia cover ‘brownfield’ areas where the historical success rate is over 70 per cent, within Australia’s most highly prolific onshore producing basin. Proximity to existing oil and gas fields and infrastructure will ensure that any new discoveries can be rapidly developed.
Our adjoining Queensland areas position the company to take advantage of any upswing in that part of the Cooper-Eromanga Basin and provide ability to explore for new, possibly larger accumulations in an under explored area.
The company and its partners have had early success with several gas discoveries in PEL 106 of the Cooper Basin (SA) and production alternatives are being examined to commercialise these new gas fields. Great Artesian and partners recently carried out the Spinel 3D seismic survey in PEL 106 – one of the largest onshore 3D surveys – giving it technologically advanced analysis to locate future drilling targets.
